Myers received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Oklahoma State University, completed graduate studies at the Louisiana State University, an M.B.A. at the Training-Darden School, University of Virginia. In addition, Myers attended training seminars at Conoco, Inc.
In addition to serving as a state senator, Myers was an independent consultant for the oil industry. Previously, he worked, in the oil refining industry for 33 years. Most recently Myers worked as a Chemical Engineer at ConocoPhillips in Ponca City.
