Pearce earned his BS in Agri-Journalism from the University of Missouri in 1984.
Pearce was Director of the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1994. He is currently a banker at First Community Bank.

Pearce won re-election in the 2012 election for Missouri State Senate, District 21. Pearce defeated Mike McGhee in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated ElGene Ver Dught (D) and Steven Hedrick (L) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
