Rainey currently works as a Program Manager with Southwest Educational Development Laboratory. He has previously worked as Director of the Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences, Building Administrator for Dumas Public Schools, and as a school principal.
Rainey is President of the Arkansas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Executive Council member of the International Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and President of the Dumas Chamber of Commerce.[1]

Elections
2010
Rainey was ineligible to run for re-election in 2010 due to the term limits of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He instead ran for District 5 of the Arkansas State Senate. He was defeated in the May 18 primary by Stephanie Flowers.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Rainey won re-election to the 11th District Seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives, running unopposed in the general election.[3]
