Sypolt earned his AS in Land Surveying and Regents from Glenville State College in 1988. He went on to receive his BA from Glenville State College in 2004.
Sypolt is a registered football official for the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). He is a licensed ham radio operator KCBYSO as well as an NRA Certified Pistol Safety Instructor. He has worked in independent mapping and as a cartographic consultant. He was also a curriculum advisor for both Glenville State College and Fairmont State University. Sypolt has worked as a land surveyor from 1986 to 1990 for three different companies. From 1986 to 1988 he worked for Laurel Mining Consultants, Incorporated. He then worked for Leiderman Associates, Incorporated from 1988 to 1990. Finally, he worked for Macris, Heneicks and Witman, Public Administration from 1989 to 1990. Sypolt went on to work as a professional land surveyor for Laurel Mining Consultants, Incorporated from 1990 to 1993. From 1993 to 2004 he worked as a professional land surveyor for Surveyor and Associates, Incorporated. [1]
