David Valesky is a Democratic member of the New York State Senate, representing District 53 since 2013 and currently serving as Vice President Pro Tempore. He previously represented District 49 since 2005.

Valesky was Aide to State Assembly Majority Leader Michael Bragman from 1989 to 1995. He then worked as Host at Hour Central New York from 2001 to 2004. He was also Vice-President/Director of Communications fro WCNY from 1995 to 2004.

Valesky earned his BA from the State University of New York at Potsdam. He went on to receive his MA from the University of Connecticut.

Valesky ran in the 2012 election for New York State Senate District 53. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Valesky was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
