Valesky was Aide to State Assembly Majority Leader Michael Bragman from 1989 to 1995. He then worked as Host at Hour Central New York from 2001 to 2004. He was also Vice-President/Director of Communications fro WCNY from 1995 to 2004.
Valesky earned his BA from the State University of New York at Potsdam. He went on to receive his MA from the University of Connecticut.
