Zwonitzer earned his BS from the University of Wyoming in 1975. He went on to receive his MS in Water Resources from the University of Wyoming in 1978.
Zwonitzer has been owner/auctioneer for the Western Auction Company and owner of Z's Home Furnishings since 1983. He has also been the owner of Western Flea Market and Furniture from 1996 to the present. He has worked as an Associate Real Estate Broker/Auction Specialist for Kuzma Success Realty since 2004 as well.[1]

Zwonitzer won re-election in the 2012 election for the Wyoming House of Representatives District 9. He defeated Mary Boud in the Republican primary on August 21, 2012.[2] Zwonitzer defeated Perry Helgeson (Wyoming Country Party), Charles Kenworthy (L) and Skip Eshelman (C) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3]
