Campaign themes

McCravey's campaign website listed the following issues:[1]

  • Reforming and Funding Public Education
Excerpt: "I am a former special education teacher and I have a depth of understanding about education policy impacts to the classroom...Our students lose out when expectations are lowered. Instead, let's raise standards and reward performance. ...In order to increase performance, we need to ensure our schools have strong accountability systems in place. ...We need to help our failing schools with all we can. But when that doesn't work, parents should have options to put their kids in the best educational environment possible. ...More dollars directly to the classroom. Spend less on bureaucracy and more on educating our kids."
  • Fixing the Economy and Creating Jobs
Excerpt: "Here are my priorities in the State Senate to create jobs: Participate in public-private partnerships that expand local economic development efforts. Provide tax incentives for small businesses and job creators to help them grow. Reevaluate the B&O system with a mind focused on fairness. Provide stability and make processes easier to navigate for small businesses. Recruit out of state companies to move here."
  • Protecting Our Environment
Excerpt: "Even though I protected our forest, I also understand that trees are a crop and can be properly managed to ensure our natural resources are not depleted. I believe we all would like to have a healthy environment. ...I would like to take a balanced perspective to Olympia when it comes protecting our environment and managing our natural resources."
  • Developing a Sustainable Budget
Excerpt: "Every year in the last few years, Olympia has created a budget that has been unsustainable. Many families, including my own, feel as though we have been misled, and that our electeds have not had our best interests in mind while creating the budget. It is time that we have a serious discussion about what the career politicians have done to our state budget."
  • Developing a Sustainable Budget
Excerpt: "Conjestion [sic] and safety are big concerns in our area. We all live in a small part of the state with narrow roads that bottleneck and breadwinners are often late to work or meetings because of it. This is a discussion that has taken place in Olympia for far to long with few tangible results. We need to prioritize transportation in order to improve our local routes so that families can make it to work on time!"
