HARTFORD, Connecticut: Beau Biden, Delaware Attorney General and son of Vice President Joe Biden, was released from the Thomas Jefferson University hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, nearly a week after he suffered what doctors believed to be a mild stroke.[1] He had been admitted to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Connecticut on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, after suffering head pains.

Beau had at one time been tapped to fill the United States Senate seat left vacate after his father became Vice President. He, however, decided against such action, emailing supporters in late- January 2010 that he would "run for re-election as attorney general rather than seek the Democratic nomination for Senate."[2]
