Note: On October 24, 2012 David R. Eisenhour suspended his campaign, announcing instead that he would run for clerk of the peace in Sussex County.[1]
Incumbent Karen Weldin Stewart (D) is up for re-election as Delaware Insurance Commissioner. She was first elected in 2008 and is serving in her first term. The primary election took place on September 11.
Note: Vincent White (D) withdrew from the race on March 18, 2012, endorsing Mitch Crane.[2] Jim Van Houten (R) was running but did not file to be on the ballot.
