Dennis Murphy is a former interim Connecticut Commissioner of Labor. He was appointed to his position by Governor Dan Malloy on July 3, 2012, following the resignation of Glenn Marshall and served until October 2012.[1] Sharon Palmer was appointed on August 29, 2012 by Governor Dan Malloy and officially took office on October 5, 2012.[2]

Acting Commissioner of Labor (July-October, 2012)

Gov. Dan Malloy appointed deputy commissioner Murphy to serve as interim labor commissioner on July 3, 2012, to fill the vacancy left by former officeholder Glenn Marshall's resignation from office. Murphy served until October 2012.

Murphy resumed his previous position as deputy labor commissioner following his position as interim commissioner.[2]



Murphy was appointed acting Connecticut Commissioner of Labor by Gov. Dan Malloy in July 2012. Murphy was serving as deputy commissioner at the time of commissioner Glenn Marshall's resignation, and he was tapped to replace Marshall in an interim capacity while they searched for a permanent successor. Sharon Palmer was ultimately appointed to officially take over the office, effective October 5, 2013, and Murphy was reinstated as deputy commissioner.
