Carroll ran in the 2012 election for North Carolina House of Representatives District 43. She defeated Michael Cole in the Republican primary on May 8, 2012 and was defeated by incumbent Elmer Floyd (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2][3]
