Barrington received an A.A. degree in Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University in 1993. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1969. Following his military career Barrington served as a Firefighter (1969-1996) and then as a Fire Chief (1996-2002) in the City of Lawton. He is currently retired.
