Parsons previously was a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 42nd District from 1995 to 2013.
Parsons worked as an Operations Manager with Bellsouth Telecommunications from 1980-2000, served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve Signal Corp from 1978-1990, and has been a businessman and telecom consultant.
He served on the Cobb County Juvenile Court Citizens Review Panel from 1995-1999, and currently is a member of the ALEC Telecommunications Committee, Kiwanis Club of Marietta, and the First United Methodist Church in Marietta.[1]
