Peloquin ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 1st District.
Incumbent Bobby L. Rush defeated Democratic challengers Jordan Sims, Clifford Russell, Jr., Fred Smith, Raymond Lodato, and Harold Bailey in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012.[2] In the Republican primary Peloquin defeated candidates Frederick Collins and Jimmy Lee Tillman II.[2]
Peloquin lost to incumbent Bobby Rush in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3]
