Costa won re-election in the 2012 election for Rhode Island House of RepresentativesDistrict 31. Costa was unopposed in the September 11 Republican primary and defeated Steven Campo (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Costa defeated James Halley and Ann Marie Marshall in the September 14 Republican primary and defeated incumbent Democrat Kenneth Carter in the November 2 general election.[2][3]
