Issues

Campaign themes

2012

The following excerpt comes from Hukill's campaign website:[2]

We know how we can move forward. We know what policies work to make Florida a better place to live, work, and own a business. We must lower taxes for families and businesses. We must reduce regulations on job-creators so they can spend their time innovating rather than fighting with bureaucracy. And we must invest the resources taxpayers place in government on building and keeping a world-class education system.

2008

Hukill did not provide answers to the Florida State Legislative Election 2008 Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[3]

Hukill's sponsored legislation includes:

  • HB 971 - "Governmental Financial Information: Creates "Transparency Florida Act"; requires EOG to consult with specified legislative committees to establish website to provide information relating to each appropriation in GAA"
  • HB 7049 - "Community Affairs: Creates Office of Emergency Management within EOG; creates additional divisions of DOS"
  • HB 7127 - "Growth Management: Revises requirements for adopting amendments to capital improvements element, future land-use plan elements, intergovernmental coordination elements, & public school facilities element implementing school concurrency program of local comprehensive plans"
