A Douglas County Sheriff Term Limit Question was on the November 1, 2011 ballot in Douglas County.

This measure sought to add a third term to the current Sheriff term limit of two consecutive terms.[2] Those in favor of the measure stated that it would increase public safety and save money on election costs. Opponents saw this as a way for the council to open the door to extending their own term limits, starting with the Sheriff who is liked by the community. Noting as well that long term officials just lead to stagnant government, leading to career politicians.[3]
