Downers Grove Village Term Limit Question (April 2011)
This measure was approved
- YES 4,971 (79.7%)
- NO 1,266 (20.3%)
This measure sought to enact term limits for the village Mayor and Commissioners, the Mayor will be limited to two consecutive four-year terms and the commissioners will be limited to three four-year terms. This was strongly supported in an advisory question voted on in November 2010, leading commissioners to put this on the ballot. This will go into effect for those voted into office in 2011 and previous terms would not be applied to the new limits.
