Drew Turiano was a 2014 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the At-Large Congressional District of Montana.[1] He was defeated by Ryan Zinke in the Republican primary on June 3, 2014.

Turiano was previously a 2012 Republican candidate for Montana Secretary of State in the 2012 election. He lost to Brad Johnson in the June 5, 2012 primary election.[2]


Turiano earned an M.A. in political science from Fordham University and is currently a real estate investor in Helena.[3]

A self-described "unapologetic Conservative Republican" and "Tea Party Conservative Republican," Turiano moved to Montana in 2006. He served as Communications Director of the U.S. Senate campaign of Mike Lange, after which he wrote a young adult novel called George Buchanan Enters the Wormhole.[4]

Turiano ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Montana's At-Large District. Turiano sought the Republican nomination in the primary on June 3, 2014, but lost to Ryan Zinke.

Initially, Turiano indicated he would run for governor, but in January 2012 he switched to the race for secretary of state.[5] "Running for secretary of state will be a little less hectic and will need less funds to be competitive against my secretary of state opponents than my governor opponents," Turiano explained[5]
