Duplicate voters found in Alaska primary
From Ballotpedia
October 23 2008
Official says that dozens voted twice in the state's August primary. The results of the general election may not be announced until ten days after the election Nov. 4, giving election officials time to make sure that no one voted both in person and by absentee ballot.[1]
No widespread fraud, but serious consequences
Thirty-six people cast duplicate ballots in Alaska's primary election. Investigators are trying to determine if the duplications were deliberate, the result of forgetfulness, or instances of identity theft. In the meantime Alaskans may have to wait up to two weeks after the election to know the fates of incumbents--like indicted Republican Sen. Ted Stevens--facing tough reelection battles[1]
