He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2003 and served until 2008, during which time he was promoted to 3rd Class Petty Officer. He now works as a partner in his family's business, All Star Beverages, and manages the store operations.

Roberts ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Oklahoma House District 21. He ran unopposed in the June 26 Republican primary and defeated by Jerry L. Tomlinson in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
2010
Roberts defeated Jack Accountius in the Republican primary on July 27 by a margin of 284-508. He also defeated Jerry Tomlinson (D) in the general election.[3]
