RALEIGH, North Carolina: On June 28, early voting started in North Carolina for the July 17 primary runoff races.[1]

The original primary took place on May 8, 2012. Any races where no candidate received at least 40 percent require a runoff with the top-two vote getters. The following primaries will take place on July 17:

  • Six state executive races will appear on the primary runoff ballot.
  • Three congressional primaries require runoffs -- all three will be GOP races.
  • Four State Senate and three State House primary runoffs will take place.
