Fields did not run for re-election to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Instead, he ran to represent District 10 in the Oklahoma State Senate. Fields defeated David McLain in the Republican primary on July 27 by a margin of 3,127-1,888. Fields defeated Dale Christenson Jr. (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[1]
