Edgewood and Middletown City School District Levy Measures, 2 (May 2010)
- YES 3,624 (58.53%)
- NO 2,568 (41.47%)
The Edgewood measure sought to replace an existing levy with a 6.8 mill replacement to be in place for a further five years. The money generate from this levy would have gone towards the general fund of the district. School officials had been trying to educate residents on why this measure was vital to the school district. The money generated from this tax would have accounted for around 10 percent of the overall school budget and officials were trying to emphasize that taxes would not increase, just remain the same. Cuts had already been made to school programs and faculty and more cuts were predicted if the measure had not passes.
The Middletown measure sought to replace an existing levy with a 18.78 mill levy instead and will be used to help pay for the general requirements of the school district.
