Editorial: Officials must purge voter registration rolls
From Ballotpedia
October 27 2008
Officials should purge voter registration rolls more frequently to address fears that elections may be stolen. Lincoln County, West Virginia, has more registered voters than people, and counties across the United States have similar problems. Election officials, the editorial argues, should do a better job of making sure only legal residents of a county are registered to vote there, and of keeping track of when voters change their residence.[1]
Credibility of elections is at stake
Just because a voter may be registered several times does not mean he or she will be able to vote multiple times. But with fears of voter fraud on the rise it's important, the editorial argues, to clean up voter rolls and reduce the impression that fraud may have played a roll in an election's outcome.[1]
