Edmond School Bond Measures (November 2009)

There were two Edmond School Bond Measures on the November 10 ballot in Oklahoma County for residents in the city of Edmond.

There were two bonds proposed on the ballot; the first one, proposition 1, was in the amount of $35,320,000 and the second, proposition 2, was in the amount of 36,120,000. The majority of the money will go towards building new classrooms for the district elementary school. Memorial High School will also getting a large sum of this money to build new classrooms as well as the city population continues to grow and the need for more classes increase each school year. City officials held this special election for these bond issues because they did not want voters to get confused with the December vote on MAPS which does not concern city schools specifically.[1]
