Buchanan earned his BA from the University of Wyoming in 1990. He went on to receive his MA from the University of Colorado in 1994. He then earned his JD from the University of Wyoming in 1998.
Buchanan was an Officer in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1994. He then worked as an attorney for the Knudsen Law Office from 1998 to 2002. He has been an attorney for Edward A. Buchanan, Professional Corporation since 2002.[2]
