2012
Fleming ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Florida's 5th District. Fleming sought the nomination as a no party affiliated fiscal conservative and social progressive on the Independent ticket.[2] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of June 8, 2012. The primary elections were held on August 14, 2012. She was defeated by Corrine Brown on November 6, 2012.[3]
