Munnerlyn won election to represent District 54 in the November 2, 2010 state legislative elections.
Munnerlyn received her B.A. from Converse College in 1990. She earned a J.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1993. She served as a law clerk for Circuit Court Judge James E. Lockemy from 1993-94. She was the Assistant Solicitor in the 4th Circuit Solicitor's office from 1994-2010.
