Elk Rapids Township Levy Increases, 3 (August 2010)

Three Elk Rapids Township Levy Increase measures were on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the township of Elk Rapids which is in Antrim County.

The first measure was approved

  • YES 459 (51.86%) Approveda
  • NO 426 (48.14%)

The second measure was defeated

  • YES 164 (18.59%)
  • NO 718 (81.41%) Defeatedd

The third measure was defeated

  • YES 428 (48.31%)
  • NO 458 (51.69%) Defeatedd[1]

These measures sought to add additional levies to local property taxes in order to help pay for different services. The first proposal sought an increased levy of .35 mills for a further six years in order to help pay for road maintenance and repairs. The second proposal sought an increased levy of .6 mills for a further seven years in order to help pay for contaminated soil removal. The third proposal was for an increased levy of .2 mills for a further three years to help with the rehabilitation of the Historic Elk Rapids Township Hall.[2]
