Elmer Austin Benson (September 22, 1895 – March 13, 1985) was a politician from the state of Minnesota. He was appointed as a Farmer-Laborite member of the U.S. Senate on December 27, 1935 and did not seek election when the term expired on November 3, 1936. Benson then served as Governor of Minnesota from 1937-1939.[1]
