There was a Erie County Taxpayer Protection Law proposition on the November 3 ballot in Erie County.
This proposition was a proposed change to the county charter. There has been some confusion as to what the proposition actually asks, but it basically states that the Erie County legislature will have the power to approve appointments of contracts for personal advisers to the County executives. Lets there be a check and balance in the county government so executives cannot just hire friends or co workers without a proper reason. Many voters do not understand the ballot language but the county board of elections is trying to help hoping that voters make an informed decision Tuesday.
