Ethan A. Berkowitz (b. February 4, 1962) is a former Democratic candidate for Governor of Alaska. He secured the Democratic nomination but lost the general election to Republican Sean Parnell. He previously served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1999-2006 and was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in 2008.

Berkowitz is owner of the Nunatak Limited Liability Company and has been an private practice attorney since 1994. Prior to that he worked as an Enforcement Officer with the United States Antarctic Program and an Assistant District Attorney of Anchorage.

Berkowitz earned his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, M.A. in Philosophy/Polar Studies from Cambridge University, and AB in Government/Economics from Harvard College.[1]

Berkowitz defeated Hollis French in the August 24 primary by a margin of 46.64% to 38.88%. He faced Sean Parnell (R), William S. "Billy" Toien (L), and Donald R. Wright (Alaskan Independence) in the November 2 general election.
