Ex-ACORN aid held in voter-registration fraud case. Jemar Barksdale was arrested on October 20 on felony theft and forgery charges. He has been accused of submitting dozens of falsified voter-registration applications. Krista Holub, ACORN's political director in Pennsylvania, says he was fired after working for ACORN for eight days. [1]
Details
Jemar Barksdale has admitted to signing the applications as the ACORN assistant who helped register the individuals, but not to falsifying the information. He submitted 18 forms under the names of already registered voters and 22 other "completely falsified" documents. Those already registered have testified that they did not sign the new voter registration forms, and Jemar's handwriting has been analyzed and matched to the handwriting on the forms. [1]
