A Republic School District Bond Measure was on the April 3, 2012 ballot in the Republic school district area which is in Greene and Webster Counties.

This measure was approved

  • YES 539 (76.89%)Approveda
  • NO 162 (23.11%)[1]

This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $2 million in order to help pay for a FEMA storm shelter, upgrade technology and facilities as well as purchase currently leased properties. The bond will not add to the current tax rate in the district, just extend it for the life of the new bond. School officials noted that decreased funding has left upgrades undone and without current improvements the students will just become further behind other schools.[2]
