Fairborn City Fire & Police Levy Additions, 2 (November 2011)

Two Fairborn City Fire & Police Levy Addition measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Fairborn which is in Greene County.

Both measures were approved

The first measure sought to add to the current police levy by a rate of 4.4 mills for a further five years in order to further pay for police protection services in the city.

  • NO 3,659 (46.71%)

The second measure sought to add to the current fire levy by a rate of 4.4 mills for a further five years in order to further pay for fire protection services in the city.[1]

  • YES 4,560 (58%)Approveda
  • NO 3,302 (42%)[2]

Fire officials noted that without this levy addition there would not be enough money to continue the current level of services, that three firefighters and four police officers would have to be cut. Officials noted that they have reorganized the departments but do not see any other way to continue services without more money.[3]
