This measure sought to renew the current school levy which was set at a rate of $.45 per $100 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for general improvement costs in the school district.[2]

The question on the ballot:

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of FAIRFIELD LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT for the purpose of GENERAL PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS at a rate not exceeding 4.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.45 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 4 YEARS, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.
