A Fairmont Drive Transfer of Territory ballot question was on the May 8, 2012 ballot for voters in the effected area of Fairmont Drive in San Mateo County, where it was approved.

The approval of Measure R means that 47 residences located between 2020 and 2098 (even numbers) and 2025 and 2089 (odd numbers) on Fairmont Drive in San Mateo will be transferred from the Belmont-Redwood Shores Elementary School and Sequoia Union High School Districts to the San Mateo/Foster City Elementary School and San Mateo Union High School Districts. The impacted school districts did not unanimously agree on this transfer and as a result, an election was called to settle the matter.

The transfer will take place effective July 1, 2013. Property owners of the 47 residences will see an increase in their taxes if Measure R is approved, because the districts into which they will be transferred have higher parcel taxes in place than the districts from which they would be transferred.

The election was held as a mail-in ballot election.
