A bogus flier in Virginia is falsely telling Democratic voters that the state wants them to vote on Nov. 5--a day after the actual election. The state's Board of Elections said that the flier has been seen in Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach and Norfolk. It uses the Virginia state seal in an effort to appear authentic.[1]
Fliers may be a sign of dirty tricks to come
Similar fliers appear before every election as part of an effort to suppress the vote. Other tactics include falsely informing potential voters that police or prosecutors will be monitoring the polling places.[1]
