A Farmington Area Library District Bond Measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Farmington library area which is in both Fulton and Peoria Counties.

This measure was defeated in Fulton County

This measure was also defeated in Peoria County

  • YES 162 (34.39%)
  • NO 309 (66.61%)Defeatedd[2]

This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $3.69 million in order to help build a new library building as well as furnish, equip and upgrade technology in the new facility.[3] The facility would have been one story as well so more people would able to access it. A group has\d been formed to promote this levy to residents in the hope that encouraging a vote and informing residents about the benefits of the new facility a positive vote would occur.[4] The library had hosted an informational meeting to help answer questions about the measure as well as further inform residents about the needs of the library and the benefits of the proposed additions.[5]
