October 24 2008
An Assistant United States Attorney will be monitoring allegations of vote fraud in western Virginia. Sharon Burnham, western Virginia's District Election Officer, will be available to field complaints relating to vote fraud. Possible violations include vote-buying, over-counting votes, and disregarding votes.[1]
Federal official doesn't foresee problems
Burnham said in a statement that her office had so far received no complaints of "improper voter influence." She said she expected citizens, parties and candidates to follow the law and for the election to run smoothly.[1]
