The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama said that she was appointing a prosecutor to oversee the district's efforts to deter and investigate voter fraud and voting rights abuses. The move is part of a nationwide push by the Justice Department to ensure the integrity of the upcoming election.[1]

US Attorney Alice H. Martin said that anyone with information suggesting electoral corruption of voting rights abuses should contact her office, the FBI, or the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department. She said that two federal prosecutors would be on duty while polls are open on Tuesday.[1]
