Two Fork Township Fire Levy Renewal measures were on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Fork, which is in Mecosta County.

Both measures were approved

The first measure sought to renew the current fire operations levy which is set at a rate of $1.25 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire department operational costs in the township.

The question on the ballot:

Proposition 1: Shall the previously voted millage increase in the 15 mill limitation of article 9 section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1.25 mills ($1.25 per $1,000 of taxable value) for fire department operations be renewed for a period of 4 years, 2012-2015, and shall Fork Township levy such millage, thereby raising in the first year estimated revenue of $49,543.00 for fire department operations?

Proposition 2: Shall the previously voted millage increase in the 15 mill limitation of article 9 section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 0.50 mill ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for fire department equipment be renewed for a period of 4 years, 2012-2015, and shall Fork Township levy such millage, thereby raising in the first year estimated revenue of $19,817.00 for fire department equipment?[3]
