Frank Balles was a 2013 Republican candidate for District 2 of the New Jersey State Senate.[1]


Balles graduated in 1980 with a diploma from Absegami High School in Galloway, New Jersey.[2] He has worked as a police officer in Pleasantville, New Jersey as well as an instructor at Atlantic County Police Academy. Balles is a former commander of the Atlantic County and Pleasantville emergency response teams.[3] He is currently the Atlantic County Sheriff.[4]

Balles ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey State Senate District 2. Balles defeated Marybeth Bennett in the June 4 Republican primary. He was defeated by incumbent Jim Whelan (D) in the general election on November 5, 2013.[5][6][7][8]

Balles and his wife, Cyndi, have two children. They currently reside in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
