Frank Padavan (b. October 31, 1934) is a former Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 11 from 1972 to 2010. While in office, he served as Vice President Pro Tempore.

Biography

Padavan earned his B.E.E. from Brooklyn Polytechnic University in 1955 and his M.B.A. from New York University in 1963. His professional experience includes working for the for Westinghouse Electric Corporation from 1955 to 1968 and as the Deputy Commssioner for the New York City Department of Buildings from 1968 to 1972. He served as a Colonel in the United States Army Corps of Engineers.[1]

Padavan was unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He was defeated by Tony Avella (D) in the general election.[2][3] He ran as a member of the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties.

After a close race, Padvan conceded in defeat on November 10, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Frank Padavan won the election for New York State Senate, District 11 with 45,294 votes.
