This measure sought to replace two expiring levies with one set at a rate of 5 mills though this new rate would not be implemented until 2012 when the other two levies will expire. The head of the fire department noted that without this money there will be no fire services because that is their only source of income. They were also stressing the fact that this was not new but will just continue current taxes with a slight increase.[2]
