Sullivan ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 46. He and Brian Cuevas both lost in the August 2, 2011 primary to Mickey Lagasse and Philip Moran, who will face each other in a primary runoff election on August 23, 2011. Joe Bye ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary and James Overstreet is running as a Constitution Party candidate. The general election took place on November 8, 2011. [1]
