A City of Fullerton Sales of Fireworks in the City, Measure X ballot question was on the November 6, 2012 ballot for voters the City of Fullerton in Orange County, where it was approved.

The approval of Measure X means that those fireworks that are generally characterized as "safe and sane" can be sold, possessed and used in the city in the period from noon on June 28 to noon on July 6 each year.

Measure X also allows for "safe and sane" fireworks to be "lawfully discharged" within city limits.

Previously, all fireworks sales were illegal in Fullerton, except for "supervised public displays of fireworks" authorized by the city's fire chief.

The sale of some fireworks in the city was allowed up until 1990. In 1990, a vote of the people repealed the ordinance that allowed the sale of fireworks.

With the approval of Measure X, the city council will retain the right to determine which fireworks are to be regarded as "safe and sane," determine the qualifications of those who will be allowed to sell them, the time periods during which they may be sold or discharged, the locations where they may be discharged, and other provisions regarded by the city council as necessary to preserve the public health, safety and welfare.

A simple majority vote was required for approval.
