This measure sought to renew the current school property tax which was set at a rate of .25 mills for a further two years in order to help pay for operational needs of the school districts.[2] School officials were hoping to educate residents to vote in favor of this measure which would help wherever the school saw a critical need. The were also emphasizing the fact that this was a renewal so taxes would not increase for residents, just stay at the same rate.[3]
