A Garden City Police & Fire Levy Addition measure was on the May 3, 2011 ballot in the city of Garden which is in Wayne County.

This measure sought to add to the current police and fire levy by a rate of $12 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to help pay for equipment maintenance costs for both departments in Garden City.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

A proposal to authorize the levy of 1.2 percent of the assessed value (12 mills) on all real and personal property subject to taxation in the City as new additional millage of five (5) year duration for the sole and exclusive purpose of providing for the operation and equipment of the Garden City Police and Fire Departments. It is estimated that 12 mills would raise approximately $6,601,218 when first levied in 2011.[3]
